JOB DESCRIPTION 

Breakfast Club of Canada is looking for a Business Partner, Government Relations, Marketing and Philanthropy reporting to the Financial Planning and Analysis Director. The selected candidate will drive the preparation of the budgets, forecasts as well as variance analyses for the Government Relations, Marketing and Philanthropy teams.  This person will ensure compliance with specific agreements and provide financial advice, support and analyses to facilitate decision-making to attain the supported teams’ goals.   

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead and develop the forecasting and budgeting processes for the Government Relations, Marketing and Philanthropy groups (supported teams).  
  • Develop and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and analyses, including key performance indicators and dashboards for the supported teams. 
  • Design and develop financial models, analyses, reports and systems to support decision-making in the supported teams.  
  • Prepare and analyze agreements, government grant applications and other commitments.  
  • Prepare financial reports and monitor performance for specific agreements. 
  • Review agreements and ensure compliance with all the terms and conditions in the contracts.  
  • Work closely with the supported teams to monitor and assess the progress of their strategic and tactical initiatives.  
  • In collaboration with the supported teams conduct variance and trend analyses.  
  • In conjunction with the finance team ensure compliance with financial reporting as well as auditing standards. 
  • Identify key financial risks and put forward solutions for mitigating them in collaboration with the Controller’s team. 

 

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance. 
  • CPA designation, an asset. 
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience. 
  • Experience in financial modelling. 
  • Familiarity with best practices in budgeting and the role played by a business partner. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications, including advanced proficiency in Excel. 
  • Knowledge of Power BI, an asset. 
  • Good understanding of and experience using CRM softwares and ERP systems. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dynamics 365 Business Central, an asset. 
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, an asset. 
  • Essential bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written (English is required for meetings several times a month with colleagues and partners across Canada).
