JOB DESCRIPTION 

Breakfast Club of Canada is currently seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Director reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Operations. The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of professionals who partners with various departments to provide financial advice, support and analyses to facilitate decision-making and to reach the Club’s goals. This person is also responsible for the preparation of the financial strategic plan, budgets, forecasts as well as overall financial planning for the Club in collaboration with different departments. The ideal candidate for this role is a senior strategic CPA professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  

  

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Oversee the financial strategic plan, forecasting and budgeting processes as well as presentations to the management team in addition to the Board of Directors.  
  • Review, develop and manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and analyses, including key performance indicators and dashboards for the Club. 
  • Oversee the development of financial models, analyses and systems to support decision-making in the organization.  
  • Provide financial advice and support to the management team and to the organization.  
  • Work closely with the management team to monitor and assess the progress of the strategic and tactical initiatives of the Club.  
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization and the finance team conduct variance analyses and ensure compliance with financial reporting as well as auditing standards. 
  • Supervise the preparation and analyses of government grant applications and other commitments.  
  • Review agreements, monitor performance and ensure that all contracts and governmental agreements are adhered to and are administered efficiently and effectively.  
  • Manage and guide a team of financial professionals.  
  • Continuously improve financial systems, processes and procedures in collaboration with the accounting team as well as with other key stakeholders across the Club.  
  • In collaboration with the Controller’s team, identify, monitor, and manage organizational risks. 

 

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, business administration or a related field. 
  • CPA designation. 
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar position. 
  • Experience in team management. 
  • Experience in financial modelling. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications, including advanced proficiency in Excel. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dynamics 365 Business Central, an asset. 
  • Good understanding of and experience using CRM softwares and Power BI. 
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, an asset. 
  • Essential bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written (English is required for meetings several times a month with colleagues and partners across Canada).
